Leaders

Leadership can be lonely.

Show any signs that you’re not coping at work and it can be seen as a sign of weakness. This can affect sales, staff morale and your ability to perform and be the visionary you need to be.

In Church life the leader is often expected to be the one who “has it all together” and copes with everyone else’s problems and emotions. Many church members still think it is the leaders who should do everything!

Whether you lead a business, school, charity, church or any other organisation you are not Superhuman. You are not exempt from difficulties that may need help to come to terms with emotionally. Carrying other people’s problems can be as draining carrying your own. Often they supplant your own issues, pushing them to the back of the queue. I know; I’ve been there.

Having been involved in Church leadership for many years I have walked through events that have drained me totally. At times I had no one I could turn to, to listen to me and ask me the questions that could help me understand myself and my situation more clearly. I now work with people across the leadership spectrum, helping them become whole and able to lead their organisation more effectively.
